Dear Dr. Lau,

When I came into your office, my hip to my foot was so sore I could not walk on it. After a few treatments with acupuncture it was all better and I had no more pain.

Acupuncture is a wonderful type of medicine. When you gave me the treatments I could hardly feel the needles and while I was waiting for you to remove them your secretary made me feel very comfortable.

I will tell all of my friends that have a problem to see you about them.

Thank you for helping me.

Sincerely yours,

Blanche Borkowski

Dear Dr. Lau,

This is a note to thank you for the most wonderful care you gave me and to acknowledge the very effective treatment administered. You were very kind and professional as was your staff.

I was in extreme pain in my lower back as well as sciatica pain in my legs and thighs. After having four treatments of acupuncture I am now pain free. I can even go to an exercise program.

I had had pain pills and also chiropractic treatment several weeks before the acupuncture ā€“ they did not relieve the pain.

Thank you again. You made it possible for me to be pain free.

Most Sincerely,

L.B.

Dear Dr. Lau,

When I first came to see you I was in a lot of pain, really horrible pain from trigeminal neuralgia and after the treatments the pain stopped. Itā€™s been almost a year that the pain stopped, so thank you very much for treating me.

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Lau,

Iā€™ve been suffering with migraine headaches for about 40 years. They started as a teenager where I would have maybe one a month. Every year they got more frequent. I donā€™t mean a few migraines a year or a month. I mean a few a week. Several years ago, I counted them and by the end of the year, they totaled 157. Considering that there are 365 days in a year, it equates to missing 43% of my life that year. Iā€™ve had migraines that have lasted up to three days if you count the ā€œpostdromeā€ where the only functioning I could do is sleep and drag myself to the couch. Iā€™ve gone from doctor to doctor hoping that this time would be the ā€œmagicā€ cure. Iā€™ve taken more drugs than I can count and worried about what the long-term side effects would be from taking so many drugs.

I thought about trying acupuncture about 10 years ago, but the skeptical side of me kept me away. About 6 months ago, I met someone at work who had success with acupuncture for their carpal tunnel syndrome and hot flashes. She told me that she was going to Dr. Lau. It turned out that Dr. Lau was having a presentation on migraines at Sweet Home High School and I decided to go. After the presentation, I asked Dr. Lau if it would work if I didnā€™t believe in it and he answered, ā€œYou donā€™t have to believe in it, but you will.ā€ I thought it was a great answer, but I still wasnā€™t convinced. I started reading about acupuncture and migraines on-line and was inched forward a little more. Would I be willing to spend $65 a session? And for how long? Was it every week for the rest of my life? I set up a consultation because I had a long list of questions before I made a decision. Dr. Lau explained that the course of treatment for migraines is twice a week for five weeks to begin, then a week break. If there is no improvement, then I was probably not going to be helped. If there was an improvement, then it would be another course of twice a week for another 5 weeks. And then thatā€™s it, I thought? Iā€™d be cured? Youā€™ve got to be kidding. Was this like snake oil? Well, I thought, Iā€™ll try the first 5 weeks and see. Itā€™s a significant expenditure of money, but it still doesnā€™t compare to all the prescriptions, lost days of work, and loss of quality of life.

After the 5 weeks of treatment, there was an improvement. I had a few migraines and they were much milder, yet still I wasnā€™t convinced it was the acupuncture. I took the week off and had no migraines at all. The money was starting to feel less and less of an issue. I had the second set of treatments and the improvement was unbelievable. I havenā€™t had a sick day for migraines since March 12th. Occasionally, I feel like one might be coming, so Iā€™ll take a half of Imitrex and I continue with whatever I was doing. That hasnā€™t happened to me in 15 or 20 years. I hope that this testimonial is read by every person who suffers from migraines. You donā€™t have to suffer.

Dear Dr. Lau,

Thank you for helping me through a lower back and sciatic problem. Before coming to you, I was in extreme pain for many months. Through several electro-acupuncture treatments, I am now able to deal with the condition more easily. The pain has lessened considerably and I am physically able to participate in activities I enjoy.

Thank you for listening so attentively and then giving a treatment that dealt with those conditions. Thank you, too, for your kind attitude and sense of humor. It all helped in making my experience at Kingā€™s Acupuncture and Wellness Center an excellent choice. I will be glad to share this experience with others who are looking for ways to help themselves through pain.

Sincerely,

G.N.

Dear Dr. Lau,

I am writing to let you know how much better I am feeling since Iā€™ve had acupuncture treatments. I have had pain in my lower back almost everyday for the past year. I have also felt a very deep stiffness daily in between my shoulder blades and I didnā€™t think anything could help. When I become stressed, it seems the stress lodges in the muscles of my back. I felt relief with my very first acupuncture treatment; and the area I didnā€™t think could ever improve, in between my shoulder blades, now is an occasional light tightness.

An extra bonus for me is that acupuncture helps me stay asleep during the night and now I sleep more soundly. Treatment to my lower back and spine has greatly improved my menstruation cycle and ovarian pain, something the gynecologist had me convinced couldnā€™t be done without medication. Not wanting to take medication I figured Iā€™d just suffer through it every month. Since acupuncture Iā€™ve hardly had any ovarian pain and cramps these past few months, which is maybe something you canā€™t appreciate, but I am sure many other women can relate to. I certainly didnā€™t expect to have acupuncture help me sleep and balance my reproductive cycle, too.

Thank you for your caring and patient manner. Also, for helping me find healthy physical balance in my life.

Sincerely,

J.P.

Dear Dr. Lau,

Iā€™m writing this letter to explain what you have done for me with your treatments.

Before I came to you for treatments, I had bad backaches, in which I could not sleep too much laying sideways or on my stomach or my back without having any pain. Also Iā€™ve had pain in my legs and feet.

When I started your treatments, within the first four treatments I had all the pain in my back went away and now Iā€™ve been sleeping without pain.

Now you started treatment on my legs and feet and Iā€™ve had four treatments so far.

Iā€™ve got four remaining of the 12 treatments allowed from the Insurance Company.

From 1-10 of pain so far Iā€™ve gone to a 5 from pain. I hope the remaining treatments will rid me of my pain totally.

Thank you for your help.

In 2001, I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and 4 herniated discs in my back. I was 19 years old, and suffering from nerve pain, severe back pain, and was having trouble walking. After trying medication, seeing a chiropractor, going to physical therapy, and consulting three different neurosurgeons, the conclusion always came back to the same thing: inevitable back surgery.

I refused to accept this as my only solution, but I felt that I had exhausted my resources as far as alternatives to medication and surgery. The pain seemed to worsen over time, and I began to research all natural methods of pain management. I came across the idea of acupuncture on the internet, and while the idea was a little scary at first, I knew I had nothing to lose.

I found Dr. Lauā€™s qualifications and I knew he was the doctor for me. After the first 3 sessions, my pain had dropped from a 7 out of 10, down to a 2 out of 10. The results were unbelievable, and after a few short months, I became virtually pain free. I am now 7 months pregnant, and Dr. Lau has treated me for headache, nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy and lower back pain that returned as a result of the added weight.

Dr. Lau helped me gain my life back, and feel normal and healthy again. I am a firm believer in acupuncture as pain management therapy, and have recommended it as alternative treatment for pregnancy pain and nausea to my OBGYN, who has, in turn, suggested it to some of her patients. To anyone who is leery: please, just try itā€”you will be completely surprised at how amazing it can make you feel!

Dear Dr. Lau,

I would like to thank you and your office staff for the services I received at Kingā€™s Acupuncture over the last two week.

Because of being diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis, which also damaged my Achilles tendon, my doctor had me wearing a walking cast for the past 8 weeks. Thanks to Ann Branch, message therapist, who highly recommended Kingā€™s acupuncture to me I am happy to report that I am about 85% pain free.

Having received just six treatments of acupuncture from you, my doctor has finally removed the walking cast.

Thanks again to you and your staff.

Sincerely,

Diane Reed

I had suffered from severe tension headaches and TMJ pain for more than two years before being treated by Dr. Lau. Within just one session I could feel a difference. My neck and shoulder tension began to improve immediately. My only regret is waiting so long to start treatment. Due to Dr. Lauā€™s treatment I no longer need daily muscle relaxers and am free from my chronic tension headaches. I feel like Iā€™ve been given two extra hours in every day.

Sincerely,

Stephanie R.

A Testimonial to Acupuncture

Recently, I was wrestling with my snow blower and irritated my sciatic nerve to the point I was incapacitated by extreme pain in my left leg and loss of mobility.

This was during the last weekend of the New Year's holiday, and as you might know, no doctor could be located immediately. Eventually a doctor, whom I did no know, contacted me, diagnosed my problem over the phone and called in a prescription to my local drugstore. "Take the pills as directed, find a flat place to lie and see your regular doctor when he's back to work," was his advice.

I spent the next two very long days flat on my back on the living room floor with my legs elevated on a footstool. There, I passed in and out of consciousness with the rhythm of the pills. They were dandies!

Having been this route before, I pretty much knew what was in store. A visit to the family doc. More pills and bed rest followed by painful exercised. I, along with my wife said, "Not this time!"

Having spent much time in Asia, and having seen some very amazing stuff there, I opted for Acupuncture, figuring the Chinese have been doing this for 3500 years; they should have it aced by now. I Googled "Acupuncture, Buffalo, NY," and settled upon King's Acupuncture on Transit Road for treatment. A wise decision!

When I arrived for my first treatment, I could not stand erect nor lift my left foot from the floor without excruciating pain. After an intense interview by Doctor Herbert Lau, he gave me my first treatment of six. At the end of that hour, I could lift my left leg to the point the upper leg was parallel to the ground with very little pain. Things only got better with treatment and today (two weeks later) I'm out wrestling with the cursed machine and shoveling snow again.

My advice: Give acupuncture a try; it's more natural than drugs!
